Dana White’s Contender Series takes place on Wednesday night in the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. This is a five-fight UFC card with Dana White deciding at the end of the night what fighters will be. Dana White’s Contender Series gives up-and-coming MMA fighters a chance to wow the UFC boss and earn a fight contract that could change their lives. UFC 257 started tonight and the pay-per.

Last week, William Knight, Jimmy Flick and Ronnie Lawrence earned contracts into the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Who will be the next set of fighters to earn that coveted deal on Tuesday of Dana White's Contender Series from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas?

The show is headlined by light heavyweight prospects Al Matavao and Tafon Nchukwi. Matavao (8-2 MMA) has been in the sport for five years and competed in various MMA promotions around the United States. Out of his eight wins, six of them have come inside the distance. Nchukwi (3-0) made his professional debut in March 2019. All three victories have been via stoppage, most recently a first-round TKO over Knight.

The UFC president likes to see fighters go for the finish instead of playing safe. Matavao, Nchukwi and the eight other fighters competing on the show will get the opportunity secure UFC contracts during Week 6 of the Contender Series.

Dana White's Contender Series keeps giving fighters on the rise opportunities to earn a contract with the UFC. The series has already helped launch the careers of Sean O’Malley, Edmen Shahbazyan, Maycee Barber, Dan Ige and Sodiq Yusuff.

The fourth season of Dana White’s Contender Series is right around the corner.

Before the COVID-19 outbreak, Season 4 was slated to kick off June 23. Postponed due to the pandemic, it’s expected to premiere Aug. 4 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, run through September, and possibly into October.

With the return of the series, there will be a lot of fight announcements and contract signings involving UFC hopefuls. It’s understandable that it might be difficult to keep up with all of the transactions, but that’s where MMA Junkie comes in.
