Paris Bercy Atp Masters 1000

What an idea from Alexander Zverev! The German number one gave Rafael Nadal no chance in the semifinals of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy and won 6: 4 and 7: 5. This means that Zverev can play for his fourth title at 1000 level on Sunday - opponent will be the Russian Daniil Medvedev, who won against Milos Raonic 6: 4 and 7: 6 (4). The Paris Masters is an annual tennis tournament for male professional players held in Paris, France. It is played indoors at the AccorHotels Arena, in the neighborhood of Bercy. The event is part of the ATP Tour Masters 1000 on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. Tournament information.

Grigor Dimitrov has delivered some sad news just before the Rolex Paris Masters 2020. The Bulgarian announced that he cannot play at the Paris Bercy. After playing well at the Vienna Open 2020, Dimitrov suffered a foot injury, which has forced him to withdraw from the upcoming tournament.

With this, the Rolex Paris Masters 2020 will now have four lucky losers instead of three. Earlier, Dominic Thiem, Cristian Garin, and Fernando Verdasco also withdrew from the tournament at the last moment. This has given the opportunity to four players, out of the seven, who played in the final round of qualification to take part in the tournament.

World No.2 Rafael Nadal occupies the top-seed as defending champion Novak Djokovic won’t be playing in the tournament. Interestingly, the 22-year-old Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas is second-seeded. This will be the first time that he has occupied a second seed in an ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

It has not been the year so far which Dimitrov would have expected. The Bulgarian player has got the desired start in many tournaments but was not able to perform in the big matches. It would not be wrong to say that he choked, maybe because of pressure, in the knock-out stages.

Masters

After getting eliminated from the Australian Open 2020 in the second round, he played well at the ATP Rotterdam managing to reach the pre-quarters. He defeated the 3-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka in the Mexican Open 2020 but lost to Rafa in the semis.

After tennis resumed, he did not have a great start as he could not proceed beyond the second round at the US Open 2020. At the Italian Open, the 29-year-old managed to reach the quarters but lost to Denis Shapovalov there. In the French Open 2020, he was playing well before facing Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth round. The Greek player defeated him in straight sets and denied him a spot in the quarters.

In the recently concluded Vienna Open 2020, he avenged his defeat against Tsistsipas by defeating him despite losing the first set. However, he lost to Dan Evans in a close contest and could not go beyond the quarters.

It has been the same story for Dimitrov. He managed to reach the quarters and semis and then failed to keep his calm. Fans certainly expect more from him. They hope that he would be able to play more tournaments before the 2020 season ends.
